Blade Runners
About the inspiring and effective resistance to the Beast System in London.
Good news from London. I received this message some time ago:
“I don't know how much you are following London news, but there they have been rolling out driving restrictions, supposedly to ‘help stop climate change.’ The system relies on a network of surveillance cameras...
The London resistance group known as the Blade Runners has destroyed over 1,000 of the hated ULEZ (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) cameras. The city can’t keep up with repairs!
Glimmers of intelligent, passionate life persist!”
Described as “heroes” and “Robin Hoods,” London’s Blade Runners are disabling cameras meant to enforce Mayor Sadiq Khan’s vehicle emission requirements.

VIGILANTE FREEDOM FIGHTERS
Worldwide, governments/corporations are becoming ever more intrusive and manipulative with the private lives of citizens. Outside China, London is the most surveilled city in the world.(2)
Some Londoners have had enough. People are fed up with heavy-handed government coercion.
For years, British citizens have been the subject of increasing surveillance under the pretense of keeping them safe. And while some pushed back against Big Brother, many seemed content with the dynamic. But then along came Sadiq Khan, current mayor of London, with an aggressive plan to ostensibly cut pollution in the city using “Ultra-Low Emissions Zones” (ULEZ), with cameras that read the license plates of older cars, levying a heavy daily fee for driving on public roads.
Londoners who are already struggling with the high cost of living are being forced to spend thousands of pounds to buy new vehicles that comply with the upcoming regulations.
Those who cannot afford to do so will have to pay a daily charge of £12.50 to perform basic activities such as taking their children to school.
The Mayor's initiative has faced significant opposition, resulting in the formation of groups that aim to sabotage the cameras that are being installed throughout London.
Known as the Blade Runners, people across London have been vandalizing cameras in a bid to fight back against the ULEZ and the associated charges.

Footage emerged of a masked Blade Runner using a tree lopper to cut a camera’s cables before destroying another nearby.
Diners at the unknown location watched on as the hooded figure walked away with the pruning tool in hand, leaving the camera cable dangling in the air.

In another incident, a fellow vigilante was filmed climbing up a traffic light pole with a drill and unscrewing a camera in Bromley, South London.

--London Uprising: ‘Blade Runners’ on the Hunt for ULEZ Cameras(4)
As reported by Daily Mail, almost 90% of all ULEZ cameras in southeast London have been vandalized. The publication estimates some 500 cameras weren’t operational at the time of the report. A Blade Runner who spoke with the newspaper said, “We are going to take down every single one no matter what.”(5)
Sky News says there have been “hundreds” of attacks on ULEZ cameras. While some have sought to cut the cords, others opt to cover the lenses so they can’t read license plates, or they otherwise damage the monitoring devices.
Organized though social media groups, the Blade Runners have crowd-sourced maps of cameras online and openly share tips on how to disable the cameras.
The groups use gardening euphemisms to discuss their planned activities, such as referring to the cameras as “weeds,” taking them down as “pruning” or “trimming.”
The Times reports:
Before a bank holiday weekend, one person in [a] group, Action Against Unfair ULEZ, wrote: “I hope everyone makes the most of [their weekend] and gets lots of gardening/ pruning/tidying up done before we all return back to work and travel on Tuesday. If you are able-bodied and do nothing, you’re not entitled to moan if the weeds grow.”
Another post, recommending an extendable trimmer for £12.99, said: “For all you budding gardeners, check out Lidl’s mystery aisle next week.”
Armed with tree trimmers, bolt cutters, grinders, spray paint, and other implements, Blade Runners have been busily wreaking havoc with the ULEZ camera monitoring system, hitting the city’s government where it hurts the most: in the pocketbook.
The backlash against the expansion(1) stepped up a gear with pictures showing ULEZ camera cables severed, lenses covered in red paint, electronics sprayed with foam and one device blocked by a cardboard box.
Each camera is believed to cost around £7,000.(6)
Some Twitter (or X) users have noted that ULEZ cameras recently have been sporting new “armor” to protect the wires from being cut. However, the measure is just a simple shroud that only surrounds the wires on three sides, allowing access for determined Blade Runners.
Others have decided that cutting wires allows for easy fixes, so they’re taking the cameras down and disposing of them. Some have even decided to cut the poles down, with many taking photos of the aftermath and posting them to social media in celebration.
A dad in his mid-forties who has not been identified, claimed he had stolen 34 ULEZ cameras personally and the group he belongs to, as well as similar groups, had taken down hundreds. He has stated the following:
“Snipping, damaging with hammers, painting, disabling on a circuit level and removing. They are unbolted and they are snipped.
The tools they use to install them are the ones we use to remove it.
We don't want this. It's a way to try to... restrict our movements.
F*** them. It will not happen…”(7)
“Everything we are doing is for our own freedoms.
It's the tip of the iceberg. We do not live in a democracy.
We will fight with everything we have for our freedoms.”
A Blade Runner speaking to Mail Online said there were more than 100 Blade Runners in his group and that number was “increasing”, with people covering different areas across London.
He said they mainly targeted the ULEZ expansion area but attacked the existing system, too.
When he removes one of the ULEZ cameras, he said he gets “a feeling of purpose”.
He added: “There are 24 hours in a day. We either fight it or accept it. We do whatever we can.
“What we will achieve by our actions is the removal of the infrastructure and waking up the sleeping masses to what is really going on.
There are millions like me who won't take this s*** anymore.
We will fight. Leave me the f*** alone, just let me get on with my life. I don't want to be controlled.”
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
But Mayor Khan isn’t taking this Blade Runner movement sitting down. He’s striking back with ULEZ cameras mounted to vans.
In a strategic move to counteract the widespread vandalism of fixed ULEZ cameras by groups known as Blade Runners, Transport for London (TfL) has deployed approximately 20 mobile Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera vehicles to operate on a day-to-day basis across all London boroughs. Considered more agile, the camera-vans aim to avoid being targeted.
“The mobile cameras provide more flexibility and allow us to monitor areas not covered by the fixed cameras or where they have been damaged,” the source explained.
Calibrated to accurately capture number plates in all weather conditions, both day and night, the ANPR cameras are equipped with advanced technology that distinguishes between ULEZ-compliant and non-compliant vehicles. This ensures only vehicle owners failing to meet ULEZ standards receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
People have been sharing images of the mobile fleet to social media. It’s likely authorities believe the vehicles will be harder to disable since they don’t sit in one place.
ULEZ opponents are now targeting “camera vans” in London in addition to the hundreds of attacks on fixed cameras.
Some of the vans have been daubed with graffiti by ULEZ Blade Runners, had their tires deflated and cameras covered in bags.
It’s possible Khan and his team have even more tricks up their sleeves. Some have theorized drones might be deployed, a feature in Chinese cities, as citizens’ movements are tracked and restricted. Of course, Kahn and others say the ULEZ isn’t anti-car or a restriction of people moving about the city but instead is simply about cutting pollution. Blade Runners and their supporters seem to staunchly disagree(12), so one can expect they’ll continue their tireless campaign against government tyranny.
Many people are awakening to the notion that what is being presented as measures to combat climate change and to help save the planet, fit nicely, as it turns out, into the overall plan to completely control society. The so-called SMART City (SMART = Surveillance Monitoring Analysis Reporting Technology) – also known as the 15-minute city – involves an interconnected web of technologies to insure facial recognition, digital I.D., the social credit score, Central Bank Digital Currency, vaccination passports, a drone police force, cell phones and other SMART monitoring devices. A cornerstone of this system is 24-hour-a-day surveillance of the population through cameras. Apparently, the Blade Runners understand where this is all headed, and are doing their part to cripple it before it is too late.
